Welcome to Chalet Güggel – high above Davos, where the snow glistens, the sun shines, and the aroma of good food fills the air.
This is where skiers, snowboarders, and connoisseurs meet – friends, families, and everyone who loves life in the mountains.
Whether you're taking a break on the sun terrace, gazing out over the peaks around Davos, or warming up inside our lounge – here you can experience what real mountain hut cosiness means.
Our kitchen serves alpine classics with heart: delicious Älplermaccaroni, crispy Rösti, and spicy Grilled Chicken, as well as sweet hut moments such as our homemade Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce or Kaiserschmarrn.
Add a glass of fine wine or a hot, delicately spiced mulled wine – and all is right with the world.
Everyone is welcome at Chalet Güggel – whether for a hearty lunch, a quick stop for refreshments, or a long evening celebrating with colleagues.
Up here, only one thing counts: enjoyment, comfort, and good company.
We look forward to seeing you – our friends and guests!
The Chalet Güggel looks back on a long history. Already in the 60s, parties were celebrated at the current location. Back in those days, the builders of the connecting railway regularly celebrated barbecues in front of their workshop. At that time, the only offer of the mechanics was fried "Güggel". In 1990 it became more concrete. The board of directors of the mountain railways planned a mountain hut at the then Clavadeler ski lift. In 1991 Philippe Charles opened the Chalet Güggel. The small mountain restaurant had only 35 indoor and 100 outdoor seats at the beginning.
Philippe Charles led the Güggel successfully for over 25 years and made it an institution. Philippe transferred his shares to Udo Blankart for the 2018/19 season. Udo, who had been a member of the Güggel family for several years, has been the man in charge of the traditional restaurant ever since. Not only the ownership has changed over the years. A restaurant with 135 seats became the institution of today with more than 700 seats. The Clavadeler ski lift became a chair lift. Only charm, quality and cordiality have remained the same. And of course the connecting lift.
